Bank Statement

A bank statement loan program is a type of mortgage program that is designed for self-employed borrowers who may have difficulty qualifying for a traditional mortgage due to their income being harder to document. Instead of relying on traditional documentation such as W-2s and tax returns, a lender will use the borrower’s bank statements to verify their income and ability to repay the loan. To qualify for a bank statement loan program, borrowers typically need to provide personal or business bank statements for the previous 12 to 24 months showing a consistent flow of income. These types of loans may have higher interest rates and require a larger down payment compared to traditional mortgage programs.
